Eltel Networks wins two more power transmission projects at EUR 60 million
The Polish grid operator PSE Operator SA continues to sign major contracts to implement its ambitious investment plan. Eltel Networks has again secured two major orders at a total value of EUR 60 million. Both of the projects are part of the Polish-Lithuanian energy bridge.
Ełk-Border is a key project among 13 projects related to building an energy bridge to link Poland and Lithuania. The project awarded to Eltel Networks Rzeszów SA consists of acquisition of a building permit for the Ełk-Border power line. The project includes very demanding and formal legal services to accomplish the construction permit and the time to complete the project is extremely short.
“Due to the good cooperation with the customer, PSE Operator SA, the project is carried out as planned. It is worth noting that Eltel Networks’ three Polish companies in Rzeszow, Olsztyn and Krakow delivering the project is strongly supported by the customer in matters where local authorities are involved”, says Jan Piotrowski, General Director of Eltel Networks in Poland.
The other project won by Eltel in Ostroleka is a modernization of a 220/110kV Ostroleka substation and its extension by 400kV switchyard. The works include modernization of 220kV switchyard, construction of new 400kV and 110kV switchyards in GIS technology, construction of buildings for indoor switchyards and design works.
“The time given for the project realization is very tight due to strong limitations for outages and therefore we consider the project to be a challenging one. The Ostroleka substation has to be operational continuously as it is the main supply point in that region. Therefore the outages could be partial only. Nevertheless, our company is experienced in carrying out this type of works that enable us to provide high quality services to PSE Operator”, concludes Jan Piotrowski.
